The Argentine superstar put in a stellar performance as Inter Miami beat Philadelphia Union 3-1.

 

Returning from injury, superstar Lionel Messi had a great performance for Inter Miami. The Argentine striker contributed greatly when his team defeated Philadelphia Union with a score of 3-1. The former Barcelona star had 2 goals and 1 assist.

Messi’s impressive form earned him the MLS Player of the Week award , sponsored by Michelob Ultra. The match against Philadelphia Union was Messi’s first appearance since June 1.

According to statistics, Messi became the fastest player in MLS history to reach the milestone of 15 goals and 15 assists after 19 matches. The previous achievement belonged to Toronto FC legend Sebastian Giovinco (29 matches).

In 2024, Messi had 14 goals and 14 assists after 1,125 minutes on the field. Impressive scoring efficiency of the Argentine striker.

Messi has made an immediate impact since joining Inter Miami from PSG. The Argentine superstar and his teammates will next travel to Atlanta United.
