It won’t be shocking if Liverpool’s network of Dutch talent scouts grows now that it has a Dutch coach in charge.
Although to be fair, the Reds already have two outstanding Dutch players in Cody Gakpo and Ryan Gravenberch.
Xavi Simons is a Dutch talent that need no introduction. His two seasons of play for PSV Eindhoven and RB Leipzig speak for themselves, and Liverpool and other elite teams in Europe have expressed interest in signing him.
The 21-year-old, who is now under contract with PSG, is once more spending the current campaign on loan at RB Leipzig. A few days ago, Bild journalist Yvonne Gabriel said that although the £67.4 million star was coveted by the Merseysiders, the player preferred to remain with the Bundesliga team.
Christian Falk, a Bundesliga expert, called Simons, Florian Wirtz, and Jamal Musiala a “jewel.” According to recent quotes, he confirmed Liverpool’s interest in the player and stated as much.
“Compared to Wirtz, he is more likely to attend the Premier League. It is possible that three transfer diamonds will be available in the market next year in addition to Musiala.
Furthermore, Italian writer Fabrizio Romano of The Daily Briefing has stated that Xavi Simons will probably depart PSG in the summer of 2025.“Xavi has a good chance of leaving PSG on a permanent transfer in 2025, but no agreement has been made with Liverpool or any other club yet.”
They can try to ultimately sign Xavi Simons, even though Romano stated that there is no agreement with Liverpool, since he might depart the French champions. Perhaps Arne Slot could persuade the Oranje star that Anfield is the only place he should go next.
Simons would blend right in with Slot’s configuration. In the number 10 position, he might challenge Dominic Szoboszlai or replace him. The Hungarian has a distinct style, and Liverpool would benefit from having a Dutchman who scores more goals.
How Liverpool approaches pursuing the 21-year-old is still to be seen. Xavi Simons will have to make a choice, and hopefully he will select Liverpool to be his next club.
