WAYNE ROONEY has swapped St. Andrew’s for the beaches of Dubai.

The Manchester United legend was sacked from his position as Birmingham head coach at the start of January after winning just two of his 15 games in charge.

Rooney was photographed enjoying up some sun in the United Arab Emirates after meeting up with darts star Luke Littler at Old Trafford.

The 38-year-old Rooney posted a photo of his trip to the nation on Instagram.

The Evertonian and legendary NHL player Alex Ovechkin were photographed together while they were there.

The 38-year-old Ovechkin won three NHL MVP awards and held the record for the most goals scored in a league on four separate occasions.

Since joining the Washington Capitals in 2005, the left winger has won a Stanley Cup in 2018.

Rooney meanwhile, won five Premier League titles, one Champions League and was named footballer of the year in 2010.
