Manchester United is still searching for possibilities in the transfer market because Dan Ashworth understands that it will take more than just “one transfer window” to rebuild the team. The issues are far more complex and require gradual attention.
The Red Devils have been worried about left-back for a while now. When healthy, Luke Shaw is among the greatest in the world for his position, but over the past 12 months, his body has become more and more unreliable.
On the other side, Tyrell Malacia has endured a never-ending string of injuries, and although he is almost back, nobody is sure in what condition he will return.
Because of this, Manchester United searched the market for choices and ultimately decided on Antonee Robinson, a standout for Fulham.
The Sun now claims that Liverpool, the left-back’s bitter rivals, are prepared to defeat Manchester United to sign him. Considering his ceiling, neither team should be concerned about paying the player’s estimated £35 million valuation.
Note that Kostas Tsimikas and Andy Robertson are now in Liverpool’s ranks. Even if you were to think that the latter will be let go, Robinson would still need to wait out the season as a backup until Robertson joins the team.
Conversely, Manchester United is in desperate need of a left-back. Luke Shaw is unlikely to be able to play in every game even if he were to return, which would give Robinson a greater opportunity to start at Old Trafford than on Merseyside.
If Robinson decides to join with Manchester United, he would be a valuable addition to the team, and this matchup between the two English heavyweights will be exciting. Having turned 27, he is now in the prime of his career. Should United spend £35 million to get him?
