Once again, Cristiano Ronaldo’s Al-Nassr is creating a stir in the transfer market for football players. According to reports, the Saudi Arabian team is willing to pay Liverpool’s Virgil van Dijk the highest salary of any defender in the world in order to get him to leave Anfield.

This potential blockbuster deal would see Van Dijk reunite with a familiar foe: Aymeric Laporte. The French defender, formerly of Manchester City, joined Al-Nassr in the summer.

Van Dijk and Laporte have a famous rivalry in the Premier League, with both players playing key roles in their sides’ championship runs.

 

Should these high-profile transfers come to pass, Al-Nassr would have a very strong defence duo. Since Ronaldo signed, they have made it apparent that they want to put together a roster that is full of stars.
