Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was pictured out for lunch with Manchester United’s former chief executive David Gill.

Gill worked at Old Trafford during the Norwegian’s playing career and the pair ate together at Cibo Restaurant in Hale Village on Thursday afternoon.

Both men were part of United’s successful old guard under Sir Alex Ferguson and perhaps Solskjaer was picking the brains of the highly respected football executive.

They shook hands outside the restaurant on an icy afternoon in Cheshire and appeared to spot the lurking camera.

United have looked more like the team of old under Gill and Ferguson’s stewardship in recent weeks.
