Speaking at the pre-match press conference, coach Hansi Flick admitted that the Dutch midfielder will return to the Barcelona squad.

Barcelona fans received good news ahead of the match against Young Boys in the second round of the Champions League qualifying round. Accordingly, star Frenkie de Jong will return to the squad after a long time on the sidelines due to injury.

Coach Hansi Flick is likely to send De Jong off the bench. The Dutch midfielder will have time to get used to the game and regain his ball feeling before officially joining the starting lineup.

Since April, De Jong has been absent from the Barcelona squad. The return of the former Ajax star will add more strength to the midfield of the Nou Camp team.

Speaking at a press conference before the match with Young Boys, coach Hans Flick said: ” Positive news. De Jong will return to the Barcelona squad . Whether he comes on for 5 or 10 minutes, it is very important.”

“De Jong has responded fantastically. He has been training with his teammates. We need De Jong’s talent. De Jong is ready. He doesn’t play 45 minutes, he plays 20 or 10 minutes. That will help De Jong a lot.”
