Barcelona are reportedly considering a 2025 free transfer move to sign Bayern Munich winger Leroy Sane.

The Catalan giants continue to balance themselves against a delicate financial situation at the club despite steady improvements made in the last 12 months.

However, the La Liga side will still be operating within a limited budget in 2025, with more player sales expected to balance the books at the renovated Camp Nou.

That could mean Hansi Flick is looking for bargains and his link with Sane could be crucial in persuading the Germany international over a move away from Bavaria.

Sane was signed by Flick at the start of his first season in charge at the Allianz Arena, in 2020/21, with the pair winning the Bundesliga title together at the end of the campaign.

 

The 28-year-old has slipped down the pecking order in the following years, with Jamal Musiala and summer signing Michael Olise overtaking him, alongside Harry Kane.

As per reports from Diario Sport, Sane has no intention of signing a contract extension, with his current deal expiring at the end of the 2024/25 season.

Barcelona can open talks in January, but the club will push for reassurances over his fitness and adaptability to Flick’s tactical demands, before putting forward a formal offer.
