Raphinha’s hat-trick helped Barcelona beat Bayern Munich 4-1 at Nou Camp in the early morning of October 24, in the third match of the 2024-25 UEFA Champions League group stage.

Barcelona have suffered six consecutive defeats against Bayern Munich in the Champions League and they are determined to take revenge in the match on the morning of October 24. Coach Hansi Flick used an attacking lineup with stars Lamine Yamal, Lewandowski and Raphinha.

On Bayern Munich’s side, key players such as Kimmich, Muller, Gnabry, and Harry Kane all started. Barcelona pushed their squad up high and the home team quickly opened the scoring when Raphinha scored against Manuel Neuer just 58 seconds after the ball rolled.

The Brazilian striker quickly got down to receive a pass from Fermin Lopez, dribbled past goalkeeper Neuer and finished into an empty net, opening the score 1-0 for Barcelona.

Bayern Munich pushed up the pitch in search of an equaliser. Striker Harry Lane headed past Inaki Pena in the 10th minute, but VAR intervened and ruled out the England captain’s goal for offside.

In the 18th minute, Harry Kane left his mark with a classy flying shot in the penalty area after a cross from Serge Gnabry on the left wing, equalizing 1-1 for Bayern Munich.

Defensive errors cost Bayern Munich. In the 36th minute, defender Kim Min Jae missed a header, allowing Fermin Lopez to cross for Robert Lewandowski to score against his former team, helping Barcelona take a 2-1 lead.

Before the end of the first half, Bayern Munich continued to expose gaps in defense. In the 45th minute, Marc Casado passed the ball from home to Raphinha, the Brazilian star dribbled past Dayot Upamecano before finishing into the far corner, defeating Neuer, helping the Catalan club lead 3-1.

The second half had just started for 11 minutes, Raphinha dribbled at speed to receive a pass from Lamine Yamal and finished dangerously into the far corner to beat Neuer, completing his hat-trick and helping Barcelona lead 4-1.

Bayern Munich, despite actively pushing up their formation to find an equalizer, did not create many opportunities. Barcelona’s defensive counter-attacking style of play put Bayern Munich at risk of conceding more goals at times.

If they take advantage of their chances, Lamine Yamal or Lewandowski can make Bayern Munich regret. However, the 4-1 victory over Bayern Munich helped Barcelona successfully get revenge and coach Hansi Flick and his team are confident before the match with Real Madrid in La Liga this weekend.

In the 2024-25 UEFA Champions League rankings after the third round of matches, Bayern Munich dropped to 23rd place with 3 points while Barcelona rose to 11th place with 6 points.
