RAMPAGE DEVIL: Casemiro rages with former Man Utd player after he get ‘HORRIBLE’ tackle and Lisandro Martinez has to step in to mediate

Former Man Utd midfielder Shola Shoretire just had an unforgettable experience when meeting his old team. Not only could he not help PAOK avoid a 0-2 defeat to the Red Devils, the 20-year-old English player also almost got into a fight with Casemiro.

In the match between PAOK and Man Utd in the 4th round of the 2024/25 Europa League qualifying round, Shoretire had to sit on the bench until the 84th minute before entering the field to replace Taison. At that time, PAOK was trailing 0-2 at Old Trafford and had little hope of turning the tables.

Everything would have been fine for Shoretire, if he hadn’t tackle Casemiro’s leg in the 3rd minute of injury time. After falling to the ground and appearing to be in great pain, the Brazilian midfielder of MU stood up and shouted loudly in Shoretire’s face.

Casemiro’s harsh reaction made the atmosphere on the field tense at that time. If Mason Mount and referee Radu Petrescu had not intervened in time to separate Shoretire and Casemiro, the two could have gotten into a fight.

Notably, after the match ended, Shoretire approached his former teammates to greet and congratulate them on the victory, but was immediately pulled back by defender Lisandro Martinez to apologize to Casemiro. In the end, Shoretire did not hesitate to apologize to his senior and gave each other a conciliatory handshake.

Shoretire joined the Carrington academy in 2013 and spent three years playing for the first team. Just days after making his debut at the age of 17, the England star made history in February 2021 when he became Man Utd’s youngest player to play in a European match, in a 4-0 win over Real Sociedad in the Europa League.

Last summer, after his contract with the Old Trafford team expired, Shoretire left the team to join PAOK with a four-year contract.
