Nunez is currently concentrating on the summer campaign for Uruguay as he gets ready to rejoin Liverpool under new boss Arne Slot.

His play soured as the season drew to an end; he had scored just once for the Reds since April and had not scored in his previous seven games.

When Nunez joins the Uruguayan national squad for the Copa America, he will be hoping to leave an impact and land a place in Arne Slot’s starting lineup.

Nunez has the chance at this event to confirm his global prowess.

Nunez played all three games as Uruguay exited the 2022 World Cup at the group stage, despite missing the Copa America of 2021 because of a knee injury.

Having scored 11 goals in 23 games, Nunez is a vital element of Uruguay’s team.

When Darwin Nunez officially joined Adidas after breaking off his prior contract with Nike, he created a stir.

Interestingly, against Arsenal the previous season, he made his Adidas Copa Pure boot debut.

Nunez expects to excel as a major player in the Copa America this summer, guided by head coach Marcelo Bielsa, who has always brought out the best in the striker throughout his career.

In the group phase, Uruguay, who has won 15 Copa America titles, will play co-hosts the United States, Bolivia, and Panama.

Nunez is expected to be crucial in their pursuit of glory as they aim to capture their first championship since 2011.
