CAPTAIN WAYS: Martin Odegaard says what he thinks Arsenal must change to relaunch their title bid after dropping points at Fulham

Arsenal captain Martin Odegaard has called on his teammates to raise their performance levels as the team looks to reignite their Premier League title ambitions.

The Gunners’ 1-1 draw with Fulham on Sunday marked another setback, leaving them in third place, six points adrift of leaders Liverpool, who also have a game in hand. Arsenal’s recent form has seen them drop 12 points in their last eight league matches, with their attack struggling to break down a well-organized Fulham defense.

Looking ahead to a busy festive schedule, which includes hosting Monaco in the Champions League on Wednesday and a league clash with Everton on Saturday, Odegaard has pinpointed areas for improvement. Reflecting on the Fulham game, the 25-year-old emphasized the need for sharper attacking play, saying, “We have to be a bit more aggressive going into the box and attacking the box.”

As Arsenal prepare for these crucial fixtures, Odegaard’s rallying cry underscores the importance of refining their approach to stay in contention for silverware this season.

‘We created a few bigger chances there but I think that it’s a game we should win.

‘We dominated the whole game. They didn’t create anything apart from the goal. We had a few big moments there, especially with the disallowed goal at the end.

‘So we are disappointed, obviously we wanted to win. We have to move on and that’s it.’

Arsenal fell behind to Raul Jimenez’s strike before William Saliba headed in the Gunners’ third goal in a row from a corner. Their impressive set-piece routines continued to caused headaches for opposition defences. It was the ninth time Arsenal had scored from a set-piece in the league this season.

‘We’re so good at it and everyone believes that when we have a set-piece, we’re going to score,’ said Odegaard.

‘And (against Fulham) we did, and we could have scored a few more to be honest. That’s a good thing and we just have to keep that up.’

‘The mood obviously now is disappointed because we didn’t win but we have to move on to the next, they come so quickly now.

‘There’s no time to be too disappointed, we have to move on and make sure we win the next one and that’s it.’
