NEW PATH: Trent Alexander-Arnold sends subtle message as Liverpool’s future takes a new turn

Recent reports suggest a Bernabeu move is closer than ever. Sources in Spain claim the deal is “nearly done” and set to be announced in the summer to honor Liverpool.

However, Alexander-Arnold seemingly set those rumors aside with a significant gesture against West Ham. Scoring his first goal of the season, he netted in the Reds’ 5-0 win, aided by a huge deflection off Max Kilman.

In the celebrations, the right-back put his hand up to his ear as though it was talking. The gesture certainly got fans speculating.

Taking to social media, one Reds fan said: “Trent Alexander-Arnold with an interesting celebration after scoring that goal. Wonder what he’s trying to imply,” with another saying: “Trent Alexander-Arnold sending a message with his celebration.”

Another added: “Honestly, I’m confused about this Trent Alexander-Arnold celebration. Is he shushing Spanish rumors or Liverpool fans who think he won’t be a Liverpool legend if he signs for Real Madrid??”

And while it appears that Alexander-Arnold is not keen on tuning into any talk over his future, the same could certainly be said of his manager. Liverpool boss Arne Slot also gave an update on Alexander-Arnold and Liverpool’s other two soon-to-be out-of-contract stars after the win at the London Stadium.

He said: ““No, I don’t think it’s negative at all. He’s playing really well, scored a great goal and the way he celebrated his goal probably tells you enough. I don’t think I have to say much more about it.

“I’m really happy with Trent, just as happy as I am with Mo and with Virgil. So for me, there’s no difference. For the outside world, maybe there’s a bit more things happening around Trent in the media than with the other two but I’m happy with all three of them at the moment.”

Alexander-Arnold’s goal was one of five that Liverpool hit against West Ham. Luis Diaz, Cody Gakpo, Salah and Diogo Jota also found the net. The Reds are next back in action next weekend as they take on fierce rivals Manchester United.
