Arsenal forward Bukayo Saka reassured fans via social media, promising to “come back stronger” after undergoing surgery for a hamstring injury.
The 23-year-old had to leave the field just 24 minutes into Arsenal’s 5-1 Premier League victory over Crystal Palace, with Leandro Trossard replacing him.
After Arsenal’s subsequent 1-0 win over Ipswich, manager Mikel Arteta confirmed in his post-match press conference that Saka had undergone surgery and would be sidelined for “months.”
Arteta explained: “He had a procedure, and everything went well, but he’ll be out for many, many weeks. It’s likely more than two months. We’ll have to wait to see how the scar tissue heals, especially in the first week or so. It’s hard to give a precise timeline.”
Saka’s absence will be deeply felt as Arsenal pushes for the Premier League title. The winger has been their most productive player this season, starting 22 of 24 matches across all competitions. He has registered nine goals and 13 assists in 1828 minutes, highlighting his critical role in the team.
