During the January transfer window, Manchester United attempted to sabotage Julio Enciso’s transfer from Brighton to Ipswich.
After concluding a loan deal that will see him play for the Tractor Boys until the end of the season, 21-year-old Enciso traded in Amex Stadium for Portman Road
Versus claims that during the winter transfer window, United targeted the playmaker.
According to the same source, the Paraguay international was considered by the Red Devils as a possible Alejandro Garnacho successor.
Since he seems eager for a fresh challenge in Naples and manager Antonio Conte has given his OK, Garnacho has been heavily linked to a move to Napoli this month.
But Enciso chose Ipswich, a Premier League relegation contender.
According to the same report, the Paraguayan turned down Manchester United’s final bid in favor of playing frequently for Kieran McKenna’s team.
After arriving in Ipswich, Enciso remarked, “I am really glad to be here.
“The management and I have had fruitful discussions. He and the club have my sincere gratitude for having faith in me.
“I’m eager to get started. I will give every game my all because I am a true fighter.
In 2022, Enciso left Libertad, a team from Paraguay, to join Brighton.
Since then, the versatile forward has made 57 appearances, tallying five goals and six assists.
In 16 games this season in all competitions, the attacking midfielder recorded one goal and one assist.
