Gonzalo Garcia’s role in Real Madrid’s 3-2 victory over Leganes in the Copa del Rey quarterfinals has been commended by manager Carlo Ancelotti.
This season, Garcia, who scored the game-winning goal, has been playing well for Castilla, Real Madrid’s reserve squad.
“Gonzalo Garcia is going through a very good phase with Castilla and contributed tonight,” Ancelotti stated.
“We ought to be pleased with them. We have to depend on them.
Garcia has scored 19 goals for Castilla this season, but his goal against Leganes was his first for the senior squad.
Garcia is getting closer to Mariano Díaz’s record of 25 goals in a single season for Castilla, which was set in the 2015–2016 campaign, with 19 games remaining.
Endrick and Arda, who had a good game, were also commended by Ancelotti for their performances.
