In Real Madrid’s Champions League match, Kylian Mbappe scored his second goal of the evening after deceiving Man City’s Josko Gvardiol with a deft move.
After just four minutes, the Frenchman’s deftly placed lob over City goalkeeper Ederson gave them the lead.
But the Madrid No. 9 reserved his best moment until the 33rd minute, when he shaped to shoot at goal after receiving the ball from Rodrygo inside the box.
Gvardiol, a City defender, attempted to block Mbappe’s effort by flying in front of him, but the Madrid forward faked, then sliced inside and smashed the ball into the net.
“Josko Gvvardiol might need a ticket to get back in the stadium,” TNT Sports announcer Darren Fletcher stated in response to the goal.
“The ball was planted past Ederson after Kylian Mbappe planted him in the turf.”
“He’s definitely laid the defender down on the floor and said’sit down there and watch me slot this home,'” observed co-commentator Rio Ferdinand.
Fantastic from Mbappe. Tragic. Rest.
‘He’s been terrific,’ Joleon Lescott stated in his halftime review. Kylian Mbappe’s degree of poise and confidence was evident as soon as he took that position (second goal).
“I’ve never looked at him and thought, ‘You really remind me of Thierry Henry,’ because of how elegant and fluid his playing is.”
After running in behind the defense and leaving one City player on the ground, Mbappe chipped Ederson to open the scoring in just four minutes.
After cutting in from the right side and putting a low effort across goal and into the bottom corner, he scored his third goal in the second half.
