According to Sport Bild, Arsenal is currently attempting to sign Florian Wirtz, a rising talent from Bayer Leverkusen. iMiaSanMia has additional insights.
Real Madrid is understandably interested in the German midfielder, who, at just 21, is already one of the most promising prospects in global football.
Conversely, Arsenal has been monitoring Wirtz for some time. They observed him during his tenure at DC Köln when he was still a young talent.
Wirtz is contracted with Bayer Leverkusen until 2027, but he reportedly has clear ideas about his future.
When he decides to exit the Bundesliga club, he aims to play for and win a Champions League title with another team.
Additionally, he seeks to join a club that will allow him to compete for individual honors like the Ballon d’Or. Bayer Leverkusen has set a hefty price of €150 million for Wirtz because they recognize his potential.

At present, it seems unlikely that Wirtz will depart Leverkusen anytime soon. However, Real Madrid is viewed as strong favorites to eventually secure the midfielder’s services.
One key reason for this is the potential for Xabi Alonso, Bayer Leverkusen’s current manager, to succeed Carlo Ancelotti at Real Madrid once the Italian coach departs.
Wirtz has collaborated closely with Alonso, and the former midfielder’s influence could significantly impact any transfer.
While the next summer transfer window is still some time away, Real Madrid is currently regarded as the frontrunners in the chase for Wirtz. They face tough competition, not only from Arsenal but also from Bayern Munich and other top European clubs.
However, given Real Madrid’s prestige and possible future managerial changes, they remain well-positioned to land Wirtz if he decides to move.
