Paul Pogba has marked his return after 18 months with a social media post highlighting his current talent to potential clubs.
The Frenchman has been without a club since mid-November when his contract with Juventus was terminated.
However, the World Cup winner had his ban reduced in October when the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) reduced it from four years to 18 months following an appeal.
The 31-year-old has been training in Miami with coaches, working on both his football and fitness. And he marked the end of his time away from football with a social media post showing off his excellent form.
During his time away from the pitch, Pogba has been linked with a number of clubs including Marseille, Manchester City, Corinthians and Manchester United.
However, according to ESPN, he is unlikely to sign for any club before the end of the current campaign.
The report goes on to claim that the midfielder has turned down offers from the Saudi Pro League and the Brazilian top flight to give himself the best chance of making Les Blues’ 2026 World Cup squad.
In January, Pogba sparked speculation that he could make a third move to Old Trafford amid the club’s struggles with injuries and results this season.
It would certainly be one of the most shocking transfers in recent Premier League history, with him leaving on a free transfer in 2022, six years after joining for £89m from Juventus.
His first season under Jose Mourinho saw United win both the EFL Cup and the UEFA Europa League – but that would be the only trophy he would win there.
United also reached the 2020-21 Europa League final but were beaten by Villarreal in a tense penalty shootout in Gdansk.
In total, Pogba played 226 times in his second spell at the club, scoring 39 goals and assisting a further 51.
But there is no denying that his failure to justify that huge transfer fee, along with his inconsistent performances, has contributed to a decline in United’s quality. The fact that he won the 2018 World Cup with France but failed to replicate his international form at club level has only frustrated United fans.
Pogba’s last competitive appearance was for Juventus in September 2023, while his last full 90 minutes was in March 2022 when he was still with the Red Devils.
