Russell Westbrook may no longer play for the Los Angeles Lakers or Clippers, but he continues to make a positive impact in the Southern California community.
On Monday, Westbrook held a ribbon-cutting ceremony and gave a speech to inaugurate the new Westbrook Academy site in South Gate, California. The nine-time All-Star founded the academy with his wife Nina, business partner Donnell Beverly, and the LA Promise Fund. The institution educates students in grades 6-12 in South and Southeast Los Angeles.
