Denver Nuggets stars Nikola Jokic and Jamal Murray were sidelined for Monday’s 114-105 victory over the Golden State Warriors due to ongoing injuries.
Jokic and Murray were both listed as questionable prior to the game. The official injury report cited a right elbow contusion and left ankle impingement for Jokic, while Murray was dealing with a right ankle sprain.
Denver starting wing Christian Braun (left foot inflammation) was also absent, but Aaron Gordon delivered, scoring 38 points to help secure the win.
Jokic’s Determination to Play
Head coach Michael Malone tried convincing Jokic to sit out on March 10, the second game of a back-to-back against Oklahoma City Thunder. However, Jokic refused, bouncing back from a previous defeat with an impressive 35-point, 18-rebound, and 8-assist outing in a crucial win over the Western Conference leaders. He has averaged 39.8 minutes in eight March games.
Westbrook’s Triple-Double
In Monday’s matchup, Russell Westbrook posted a triple-double, tallying 12 points, 11 rebounds, and 16 assists, guiding Denver to an important win.
