Felix Nmecha, a star for Borussia Dortmund, is reportedly a target for Manchester United.

After a generally unsuccessful season under Ruben Amorim, the Red Devils will be looking to reassemble their team during the summer transfer window.

Amorim’s former Sporting Lisbon star Geovany Quenda was linked to a possible move for United, but Chelsea has already outperformed them.

Bild claims that United is now ‘seeking’ a possible move for Dortmund star Nmecha after shifting their focus to Germany.

As it stands, the German powerhouses will have to let go of at least one of its stars and will not be able to qualify for the Champions League the following season.

United may benefit from this as they are eager to capture the defensive midfielder, who is valued at £40 million, during the summer transfer window.

Despite Dortmund’s season-long difficulties, Nmecha has been a bright spot for the Bundesliga team, making 27 appearances in all competitions.

Despite recording three goals and two assists in those games, he has stood out for his poise and quick thinking in the middle of the field.

According to the German publication, Dortmund, however, would be reluctant to allow Nmecha go since they see him as a key player coming up.

To retain the highly regarded 24-year-old, Dortmund may decide to sell players like Karim Adeyemi, Jamie Gittens, and Gregor Kobel before Nmecha.

Currently, Nmecha has been sidelined for seven weeks owing to a ligament injury; however, he resumed light training last week.

Nmecha would have to win over United fans, who will be well aware of his connections to rivals Man City, if he were to make a transfer to Old Trafford.

The midfield player and his brother Lukas attended the City academy before departing in 2021 to play for Wolfsburg in Germany.

According to sources, United has created a shortlist of four players in an attempt to bolster its attacking capabilities this summer.

Florian Plettenberg of Sky reports that the team is reportedly interested in four strikers, including Sporting Lisbon’s Viktor Gyokeres.

Hugo Ekitike of Eintracht Frankfurt, Benjamin Sesko of RB Leipzig, and Victor Osimhen of Napoli—who is now on loan at Galatasaray—are the other names on the list.
