Man United captain Bruno Fernandes pays warm tribute to Kevin De Bruyne after the Man City legend’s final appearance in the derby

As Kevin De Bruyne played in his final Manchester derby on Sunday, Bruno Fernandes paid his respects.

In one of the most forgettable derbies in recent memory, neither team was able to create many chances, and the points were split in a 0-0 draw at Old Trafford.

De Bruyne ended his ten-year tenure at the Etihad by announcing earlier this week that he will be leaving Manchester City this summer.

He has contributed significantly to City’s success over the last ten years, helping them win six Premier League championships, five Carabao Cups, two FA Cups, and, of course, the Champions League to complete the Treble in 2023.

De Bruyne has made 413 appearances for City in all competitions, tallying 106 goals and 174 assists.

Fernandes took a minute to serenade City’s maestro following Sunday’s derby, saying that it was a “pleasure” to play against his opponent.

“If City is where it is and Man United have not won as many trophies in this period, it is also because of Kevin De Bruyne,” the Manchester United captain stated. “He made the Premier League better.”

Ten years in the Premier League is a lot, so he deserves all the praise. I’m not sure who made the decision for them to split up.

With De Bruyne’s departure from City announced for this summer, all eyes will be on his future destination.

Mail Sport is aware that De Bruyne’s next move is probably going to be a lucrative move to the US or Saudi Arabia.
