In a “crazy” outburst, Newcastle hero Joelinton seemed to invite Manchester United rival Manuel Ugarte to a tunnel brawl.
Joelinton, a Brazilian, argued with his Uruguayan rival on the field as the Toon was being carried off in their 4-1 victory at home.
Ironically, the striker was being taken off late by interim Newcastle manager Jason Tindall in order to keep him from receiving a booking and a punishment.
But as Joelinton clashed with Ugarte, confronted him, and was restrained by two teammates, he appeared enraged.
The 28-year-old reportedly “offered to scrap” the former PSG anchorman.
Joelinton indicated the tunnel and pointed to Ugarte, seemingly inviting him to go there and resolve the matter later.
It will be a relief to Newcastle supporters that their midfied workhorse did not receive a yellow card during the altercation.
This is due to the fact that he was only one booking away from receiving a two-game suspension.
Undoubtedly, Tindall was thrilled to remove Joelinton from the field before the situation might worsen once further.
At that point, Newcastle was already up 4-1 and was guaranteed to overtake Manchester City and reclaim fourth place.
Joelinton helped his countryman Bruno Guimaraes score the game-winning fourth goal, but United goalie Altay Bayindir’s awful mistake was the primary cause.
Harvey Barnes had earlier scored two goals to punish the Red Devils’ slack defense and give the Magpies a surprise victory in the second half.
Alejandro Garnacho, a winger for United, cancelled off Sandro Tonali’s opening goal prior to halftime.
With Joelinton leaving without getting yellow, Newcastle had a nearly ideal day, even though manager Eddie Howe was still unable to go.
However, the Toon raider continued to annoy viewers.
Someone said: “Joelinton should’ve received a red card for inciting violence.”
“Why would he say that kind of thing?” someone else wrote.
Moreover, a third agreed that Ugarte’s response would have been “crazy”
