🚨Man United eye Aaron Ramsdale as they look to solve their goalkeeping crisis following poor performances from Andre Onana and reserve goalkeeper Altay Bayindir

As they attempt to resolve their goalkeeping dilemma, several teams are keeping an eye on Aaron Ramsdale, including Manchester United.

Andre Onana was benched by Ruben Amorim for yesterday’s match against Newcastle.

But Altay Bayindir, who took his place, had a rough afternoon as United lost 4-1 at St. James Park.

Amorim now has a serious headache in advance of their crucial match against Lyon on Thursday.

However, as United prepares for a summer rebuild, the long-term prospects of both goalkeepers are now in doubt.

Ramsdale, who is also being closely watched by West Ham, has surfaced as a potential target as Amorim’s search for a new goalkeeper becomes increasingly urgent.

The former Sheffield United, Arsenal, and England goalie is expected to depart relegated Southampton at the end of the current campaign.

Ramsdale is still regarded as one of the top goalkeepers in the nation and has maintained his reputation despite playing in the Saints’ terrible season.

United has been keeping an eye on his recent performances and believes that his Premier League background could make him a viable solution to their goal-leaking problems.

However, United will have to contend with West Ham. Ramsdale is thought to have been a top target for Graham Potter, who hired him to renovate the London Stadium in the summer.

Clubs elsewhere are also after Ramsdale. However, SunSport is aware that he would love to remain in England and play in the Premier League in order to secure a spot in the England team.

The last thing United boss Ruben Amorim needed was the performance of stand-in Bayindir on Sunday.

The Portuguese manager watched in despair as replacement Bayindir gave up four goals in a humiliating loss at St. James’ Park on Sunday, after removing goalkeeper Onana from the firing line for the trip to Newcastle.

Even worse, Newcastle’s fourth goal came due to a bad pass from the Turkey international.

“We did a lot of mistakes that made it harder to win a game – that’s all,” Amorim stated. “It’s a little bit of everything, it’s hard to point to one thing.”

United is eager to move over their loss in the northeast as soon as possible because they have a pivotal Europa League quarterfinal second leg against Lyon on Thursday.

However, Amorim must now decide whether to keep Bayindir or recall Onana, a choice that might define the season.
