The hosts established a 2-0 lead thanks to goals from Diogo Dalot and Manuel Ugarte, but Lyon rallied and forced extra time with goals from Nicolas Tagliafico and Corentin Tolisso. The Red Devils overcame a 4-2 deficit to win 5-4, and they finally advanced with a historic 7-6 aggregate victory.

But as normal time drew to a close, Lyon put pressure on United to equalize, and one defensive play left supporters speechless.

When the score was 2-1, Yoro fell while trying to keep up with Lyon’s Malick Fofana as he cut inside the area.

But instead of giving up, the Frenchman made a spectacular dive in front of the ball and used his head to prevent Fofana’s effort.

Following his head-tackle, Yoro was left on the ground, but he was able to resume his activities after receiving some medical attention.

Rio Ferdinand, a United icon, expressed his admiration for Yoro during the match’s broadcast on TNT Sports.

He said, “I hope he’s okay.” However, I can’t stop laughing. He loses his equilibrium and slips. Oh my. Take a look at him slipping over. Whoa.

He’ll be fine, ball to head, I’m sure. He was courageous there, though, and deserves a small round of applause.

Robbie Savage, meanwhile, added, “Did he just head that?” in disbelief. I believe Yoro used his head to tackle!

The incident was similar to when Phil Jones, a former United defender, used his head to tackle Olivier Giroud during a 2015 match against Arsenal.

John Terry, a former defender for Chelsea and England, was also spotted displaying remarkable dedication throughout his career; one of his head-to-head tackles against Watford in 2017 is considered legendary.
