Supporters of Manchester United believe they saw Ruben Amorim “tapping up” Matheus Cunha, a striker for Wolves.
During Sunday’s halftime, Amorim was seen walking through the Old Trafford tunnel with Cunha, his arm wrapped around him.
Pablo Sarabia’s incredible free kick gave Wolves a 1-0 victory, guaranteeing Cunha and company’s Premier League safety this year.
However, Amorim was spotted affectionately tapping the side of Cunha’s head during the break as the players made their way down the tunnel with the score tied.
Although it is uncommon for opposing managers and players to engage during halftime, this could simply be a polite hello.
“Amorim’s literally tapping him up 👀,” one admirer said.
“He is replacing Alejandro Garnacho in our starting line-up next season,” a second hopeful statement read.
“Amorim’s begging him to come 😂,” a third person said.
A video that seems to show Cunha waving at the Old Trafford crowd prior to kickoff also delighted United supporters.
Cunha’s future in the West Midlands is still uncertain, and he has been linked to a move to Manchester United.
Even though Wolves sits in the bottom of the table this season, the Brazilian forward has been a revelation for the Molineux team.
“Time to be happy, I will follow my dreams, not yours,” he said as the caption for a shot he uploaded to his Instagram story last weekend. Thus, maintain your composure.
The striker had to issue an apology when Wolves fans were enraged with him.
Cunha’s 14 goals in 27 Premier League games have helped Wanderers escape danger and ensure their survival on Sunday.
The 25-year-old became the most paid player in Wolves history when he inked a new four-year deal in January.
However, when the transfer market reopens, it is anticipated that several teams would activate the £62.5 million minimum fee release clause included in the deal.
Despite Wolves’ stellar season, he is also thought to have admirers at Arsenal, Newcastle, and Nottingham Forest.
