🚨Man United are considering a move for one of the world’s most highly-rated teenagers Franco Mastantuono – as Ruben Amorim plans to bolster his attacking options after a disappointing Premier League season!

After a dismal Premier League season, Ruben Amorim intends to expand his attacking options, and Man United is mulling a move for one of the world’s top-rated teens.

The team lost to Wolves 1-0 at home on Sunday, dropping them out of all competitions except the Europa League and placing them 13th in the Premier League standings.

River Plate starlet Franco Mastantuono is attracting interest from English and Spanish clubs

Following that game, Man United boss Amorim cited his team’s poor goal-scoring performance as the main cause of their low standing in the standings.

The Portuguese manager stated, “If we don’t score goals, nothing matters because in the end, the result is what counts, especially in these kinds of moments.”

Compared to teams like Tottenham (61) and Wolves (48), who are ranked lower in the table, the Red Devils have only scored 38 goals in 33 Premier League games this season.

Ruben Amorim's Man United side have struggled to find the back of the net this season

The club is already negotiating agreements for Wolves forward Matheus Cunha and Ipswich striker Liam Delap, so it will be a busy summer transfer window at Old Trafford as they look to remedy that weakness.

It has now been revealed that the team is also interested in River Plate sensation Franco Mastantuono, who has the largest release clause in the history of the Argentine team at £38 million.

Mastantuono has three goals and two assists in 11 appearances in all competitions this season

Chelsea, Real Madrid Barcelona, Atletico Madrid and Inter Milan are also on the trail of the 17-year-old youngster who became his club’s youngest goalscorer aged just 16 years, five months and 25 days in February 2024, smashing the mark held by Javier Saviola.

Mastantuono will be up close for the Blues to view at this summer’s enlarged Club World Cup in Miami.

Mastantuono is just the most recent star to come out of River’s renowned academy. Enzo Fernandez of Chelsea and Julian Alvarez of Atletico were two of the six players from the club’s junior system that were part of Argentina’s 2022 World Cup winning team.

Having already played for the under-17 and under-21 teams, Mastantuono is anticipated to make his full debut the following season and be included in Lionel Scaloni’s World Cup squad.

With three goals and two assists in 11 games across all competitions this season, the left-footed midfielder typically plays on the right and cuts inside onto his stronger foot.
