Polish national team guard A.J. Slaughter received plenty of attention after his viral picture with his son, Nikola Jokic, and Luka Doncic, and he shared what it means for him and his son.

At first, it was seen as a simple picture where Slaughter shared the moment with the two biggest stars of the EuroBasket 2022. But after Poland eliminated Slovenia, many joked that Slaughter remained the last man standing in the tournament.

However, for Slaughter, this picture has a much bigger meaning.

“Man, I was telling someone to thank these guys for being humble to take a picture with me and my son,” Slaughter told BasketNews. “I want to put my own pride to the side, haven’t played against those guys. I want to put my own pride to the side and ask those guys for the picture.”

“They’re grateful to give me and my son a picture, a lifetime memory. Something that [when] he grows up, he can realize who just took a picture. He will thank me. Just another lifetime memory that was made in EuroBasket 2022,” Slaughter added.
