Former Manchester United player Antony has a huge tattoo depicting himself celebrating goals for Ajax on his back. This has angered the fans.
Tattoo artist Bruno Lopes posted a picture of the 24-year-old Brazilian winger getting the ink on Instagram.
In 2022, he scored a late goal against Feyenoord to win the Eredivisie. This picture shows him having a good time.
That goal was essential to Erik ten Hag’s Ajax team’s victory as they defeated Manchester United by two points to win the championship.
Ten Hag joined Manchester United in the summer of 2015 after Antony transferred from Ajax for £85.5 million.
Off-field accusations, however, marred his promising start to the season.
Since then, he hasn’t performed well. In 38 games, he has only managed three goals and one assist, with only one of those goals occurring in the Premier League.
He had another outburst against Liverpool after being moved to left back in the defeat to Arsenal.
Someone also made negative comments about Antony after United defeated Coventry on penalties to get to the FA Cup Final, where they will play Man City on May 25.
Even though they finished in eighth place, the Red Devils’ season has been terrible overall. It’s likely to be their poorest Premier League finish ever.
With 19 losses in all competitions, the most since the 1978–79 season, they run the prospect of missing out on European football entirely.
Newcastle will play United at Old Trafford tonight. Additionally, they don’t want to lose their ninth home game of the season and create a new record.
Those who were angry with Antony quickly took to Instagram’s comments section after seeing pictures of him getting his tattoo.
With the Red Devils, Antony has had a forgettable season.
Sixth said, “Man got himself a tattoo.”
Another person joked, “Who has their face tattooed on them?” with laughing emojis.
One of the worse comments stated, “No passion for football at all; would rather draw tattoos than play football and be focused on your upcoming games.”
“This is the best thing ever; it’s unbelievable that Manchester United has players like this.”
Lopes did the tattoos that cover the attacker’s back. The tattoos honor Lopes’s early years spent in impoverished Brazilian favelas.
By showing him celebrating his Ajax goal and looking out over what looks to be his former home, the tattoo acknowledges that.
