Wonderkid Chido Obi will make his Manchester United debut against Brentford on Sunday afternoon.
Since arriving from Arsenal last summer, Obi, 17, has drawn the attention of Ruben Amorim, making him United’s youngest-ever Premier League starter.

The young player has already made seven first-team appearances in all competitions since making his professional debut in a 1-0 loss to Tottenham in February.
Before they boarded the train to London on Saturday, he was seen with the rest of the matchday squad. Rasmus Hojlund was benched for the Europa League semi-final second leg against Athletic Bilbao, and he was anticipated to be given minutes.
At the Gtech, Amorim selected a young starting lineup with an exclusive focus on Thursday’s match. Young players Tyler Fredricson and Harry Amass were also chosen, and Obi will lead the line with Alejandro Garnacho and Mason Mount at his sides.
Prior to the game, the United head coach stated, “We need to focus a lot on our young players.”
It’s not a huge game for Chido, in my opinion. I don’t want to put too much pressure on Chido, even though I know it’s crucial for him.
In the minutes against Wolverhampton, he performed incredibly well. He seems prepared to handle the pressures of the Premier League, in my opinion.
Obi made short appearances against Everton, Leicester, Wolves, and Bournemouth in the Premier League after being substituted in the 90th minute at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. He also played 52 minutes against Fulham in the FA Cup.
After stepping up, the gifted forward has scored two goals in his first four games for the U-21s and 12 goals in 10 games for United’s U-18s.
Amorim has sought to make sure the adolescent stays grounded despite Obi’s quick ascent to fame at Old Trafford.
“He has advised me to maintain my humility and to work hard every day,” Obi-Martin said to United’s internal news channel. ” And I’m hoping for more chances soon.
“It’s good because my parents always encouraged me to be a good person and pay attention to my coaches because they want me to improve.”
“Training with the first team has taught me to be smarter and to think faster because the game is quicker than Academy football,” Obi continued.
I find that practicing with them every day is really beneficial.
