HARRY MAGUIRE went to watch his old team, Sheffield United, to take a break from his Manchester United troubles.
After defeating Bristol City 3-0 at Bramall Lane and winning 6-0 overall, the Blades secured a spot in the play-off final.
And Maguire went back to his roots to support his favorite childhood team during some much-needed leisure.
Chris Kamara was also there, and the United player appeared to be in a good mood as he made his way through the rows to the director’s box.
The defender took advantage of the opportunity to relax after playing the final forty minutes of United’s humiliating 2-0 loss to West Ham.
Maguire endured yet another painful day on Sunday as United dropped to 16th place in the standings after suffering their 17th Premier League loss of the year.
Prior to United’s Europa League final matchup with fellow struggling team Tottenham on Wednesday, Maguire was initially rested and benched for the visit from West Ham.
However, the 32-year-old had to take Leny Yoro’s position after the latter hobbled off in tears due to a foot injury.
Shortly after Maguire entered the game, Mohammed Kudus sailed past him to assist Aaron Wan-Bissaka, and Jarrod Bowen doubled West Ham’s lead.
After saving United’s bacon with a number of late goals, particularly the amazing header in the comeback against Lyon, the England international has individually had a wild season.
However, Maguire’s defensive errors continued to plague him in Thursday’s Europa League semi-final second leg at Old Trafford, when Athletic Bilbao took a 1-0 lead thanks to a clumsy pass.
After Sheffield United was demoted to League One in 2011, Maguire rose through the ranks and made his debut in the main squad.
The 18-year-old flourished after being thrown in at the deep end against muscular, unyielding forwards.
Before turning 20, Maguire had made more than 100 appearances for the Blades.
And League One served as his springboard to the Premier League, where he played for Hull City before moving on to Leicester City and finally Manchester United.
