Last week, Mason Mount interrupted his summer vacation to take part in a charity event with Make-A-Wish UK.
The midfielder for Man Utd and England, found time in his schedule to go to the event at Staffordshire’s Hoar Cross Hall. Presenter and Girls Aloud star Kimberley Walsh joined him.

This charitable appearance coincides with ongoing discussions about Mount’s future between Manchester United and Chelsea. Negotiations for a new contract have been difficult, and Mount has not yet reached an agreement. His Chelsea contract is scheduled to expire at the end of the upcoming season.
According to earlier reports from Mail Sport, there is a contract issue between Chelsea and Mount, and negotiations are at a standstill. According to reports, the England international, who won Player of the Year for Chelsea in 2020–21 and 2021–22, wants to increase his weekly compensation of £80,000 to match that of other senior players and new hires. Even though Mauricio Pochettino wants to keep him, the club has not been ready to comply with these demands, thus a new contract does not appear imminent anytime soon.
This summer, Mount was first linked to both Liverpool and Arsenal, but both teams pulled out of the running because of growing transfer fees. Manchester United was the front-runner, but all three of their offers were turned down, with Chelsea rejecting their most recent offer of £55 million last week.
Given Mount’s contract status and desire to move to Old Trafford, United feels their valuation is reasonable. There is a standoff, though, since Chelsea has stated that they will only accept an offer of £58 million plus a further £7 million in add-ons. United has consequently turned their attention to other targets, such as Moises Caicedo of Brighton. However, if Mount is still keen on the move, a solution may still be achievable.
Following his involvement in the Make-A-Wish event, Mount said he was happy with the experience. “This partnership with Disney was truly unique, and the work that Make-A-Wish does for kids and their families is amazing,” he said. It was wonderful to interact with the families, take part in the festivities, and contribute to making some enduring memories. Being involved has been a true honor.
