Despite his heated argument with manager Ruben Amorim, Amad Diallo has pushed Alejandro Garnacho to remain at Manchester United for the upcoming campaign.
Garnacho is expected to depart Old Trafford this summer, and Amorim sternly advised him that he must “pray” in front of his teammates so he can find a new club.
After the Argentina international blasted his manager for benching him during their Europa League final loss to Tottenham last Wednesday, tensions erupted.
Garnacho only played 20 minutes off the bench as United lost 1-0, and the 20-year-old couldn’t disguise his annoyance with Amorim by acknowledging that the team had had a season.
Then, his agent brother fueled the flames by claiming on Instagram that the Portuguese manager had “thrown the winger under the bus.”
Garnacho played for United in their crushing post-season friendly loss to exhibition team ASEAN All-Stars in Kuala Lumpur on Wednesday, despite a difficult week.
Amad jumped to Garnacho’s defense ahead of their upcoming friendly, saying the team is not affected by the disagreement.
“Alejandro is a really good player, and we need good players in the team,” the Ivorian added. I hope to see Garna next season because I know her very well.
For the squad, it is not a major problem. Now everything is fine.
Garnacho was left out of United’s squad for their season-ending match against Villa, so it would be an incredible comeback if he stayed with the team.
Just hours before the Villa match, his girlfriend seemed to confirm his departure by sending fans a mysterious two-word message on social media.
She wrote ‘last match’ on Instagram, along with a heart and a tearful emoji, and included a photo of a baby-sized United uniform.
Given that the winger was a product of the club’s academy, a sale would be considered pure profit under financial fair play regulations.
Hours after defeating Aston Villa 2-0 on the last day of the Premier League, the Red Devils took off for Asia.
However, their contentious tour got off to the worst possible start as the players were criticized by irate fans for a “embarassing” loss at Kuala Lumpur’s Bukit Jalil National Stadium, which has 84,00 seats.
“I always feel guilty about the team’s performance since I am here in the first game,” Amorim stated after the defeat.
The jeers from the supporters make me feel bad, but perhaps that’s what we need since they were there for every Premier League game we lost.
.
Every time we completed, I could feel the supporters there. We’ll see in the upcoming season.
“We ought to do better.” The fact that we were injury-free is more important than the fact that we were slow and lacked the stamina to win every training session and game.
‘We don’t have it in ourselves not to choke in every exercise, in every game, that’s what occurred,’ he continued.
Following United’s defeat on Wednesday, a picture of the player giving the crowd the finger went viral on the internet.
Online, there had been some speculation that it had something to do with his name and his want for people to avoid using “Diallo” as a reference.
However, it is acknowledged that severe personal abuse directed at Amad was the true cause of his emotional response.
